CPCRN Scholars Program

The CPCRN Scholars Program strives to educate students, postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty, practitioners, and other health professionals in dissemination and implementation (D&I) science focused on cancer prevention and control and health equity. Scholars will be provided with opportunities to engage in mentored projects with workgroups that most align with their interests. Scholars will have different tracks to follow, but an educational component covering core competencies is required. Through a formalized process, it is our hope that this program can increase: the depth and breadth of the Scholars' connectedness within the CPCRN and the diverse cancer research pipeline, and applied D&I work in academic and clinical settings.

These maps show where CPCRN Scholars were living when enrolled in the program.

Core Curriculum

The core curriculum includes Dissemination and Implementation readings and professional trainings such as Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (TIDIRC) and Putting Public Health Evidence in Action (PPHEA). It also includes professional webinars, and the webinars topics are different for each cohort, topics are based on scholars interests and there are network opportunities by being a scholar.

Tracks

Cohorts 1-3 had three separate tracks and each scholar decided which track suited them best based off where they are in their career and what they want out of the CPCRN Scholars Program. Each track had at least one track lead. The track leads would hold at least two check-ins with the scholars in their track. The tracks are Student/Post-doc, Researcher, and Practitioner.
