Carmen Guerra, MD, MS is a general internist, epidemiologist, and cancer control researcher and serves as the Associate Director of Diversity and Outreach and the Associate Chief of Staff at the Abramson Cancer Center (ACC). She serves as the Board Scientific Officer on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society. Dr. Guerra has valuable clinical, scientific, cancer administrative and cultural expertise and experience that she leverages in her role as co-investigator on this project. As the director of the ACC Office of Diversity, Dr. Guerra has been partnering with community and faith-based organizational partners interested in the mutual goal of preventing cancer or detecting cancer early in their communities. Dr. Guerra facilitates partnerships for this project to conduct community-based intervention research, disseminate research findings to the communities, and form collaborations to create cancer prevention and screening programs that reduce the impact of cancer on communities in Southeastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.
